Fantastic facility with helpful staff and super clean changing rooms. The pool is impressive and multi functional. Love this place and highly recommend the aquatic programs and classes. The gym is also state of the art and huge, also never really gets crowded.
Infant swim class review. If your child has never seen a pool or water this might be ok for you. The water is too cold for infants. Very limited changing tables available in the family locker room. The instructor needs a lesson on tact. They love their rules here. It’s certainly cheaper than other swim lessons in the area. You get what you pay for. We won’t be back.
It's a great pool but the layout is the worst setup for a pool that I've been to in 20 years.
It's like a labyrinth and if you need to walk from the pool deck to the upstairs viewing area with bleachers, one must walk through the locker room, through the entrance lobby, and take stairs/elevator up from the front of the building.
Not ideal/poor planning for guests if you're in a swim competition all day and you're walking back and forth all day with all your personal belongings up in the bleachers.
Also, swim competitors drip water on the floor the entire path that they walk.
20 years of planning for this?
I also like how the "swim class" instructor blasts her instructions on a speaker disturbing the other 50+ swimmers on Saturday mornings (a class with only 7-8 people that barely manage an aquatic waddle in the water).
Another swimmer commented that they rarely have the pool setup for 50m length swims because the staff said "it takes to long to setup."
I purchased a punch pass here and then experienced an injury, so I could not use the pass. I wrote in about a refund (the pass was unused) and had my requests ignored). The facility seems poorly managed based on this experience and reading through other reviews here and on other platforms - what an incredible shame.
It’s a nice enough facility but the layout is a bit of a labyrinth. Have visited three weekends in a row and only been able to access the leisure pool once. We came during advertised open hours but last time there was an unannounced “emergency cleaning” and this week there is a two hour wait list due to “extreme staffing shortages.” There was no posted notice of this, nor did they say there was a wait when I called 15 minutes before arriving. I looked into the leisure pool and there is hardly anyone inside. Lots of angry families piling up in the lobby. I hope for their sake they get the staffing and communication issues resolved because this isn’t going to fly long term.
Very nice pool facility. Excellent air and water quality. You could stay there for hours without eye irritation or respiratory issues. I heard the pools use a patented exhaust system that extracts chloramine at the source, thus, not allowing it to become airborne. Great job by the architects!!
I also would like to address a comment made by a certain John Kay regarding the bleachers not being accessible from the pool deck. He feels this is the worst design he has seen in 20 years. Mr. Kay, while it is inconvenient, it is required by the Health Department that the spectators’ bleachers shall not be directly accessible from the pool deck. This is not only implemented by Arlington County but by other jurisdictions, as well. Again, not a design issue.
Very poorly managed. They are partnering with USO ticketline to offer places for military families but don't have the capacity to support it. We arrived at the opening and were told that their was a 2 hours wait line, kids were very disappointed. I do not recommend this establishment.
I watched this place being built and just joined last week. Two pools, one is a long 50 meter pool and the other is a regular 25 yard (?) that's attached to the kiddie section. The 'problem' with the big pool is it's ALWAYS crowded. Ah well. Very nice gym area with plenty of cardio machines, free weights, etc. The whole place is very clean and staffed with great people.
